PARAMOUNT EQUITY BUILDS SCHOOLHOUSE IN AFRICA
Team returns from Mali after breaking ground and starting construction

(ROSEVILLE, Calif.) – Five executive team members from Paramount Equity just returned from the West African country of Mali, where they broke ground on a children’s schoolhouse that they raised money to build.

The team consisted of Paramount Equity co-owners Hayes Barnard and Matt Dawson, Executive Vice President of Operations Michele Magee, Vice President of Sales Matt Hurych and Executive Administrative Assistant Kathryn Johnson. The group spent eight days in Mali, living and working amongst the villagers. The schoolhouse, which will be completed in two months, will educate 150 children at a time and is built to last for at least 20 years.

"As the father of three young children I believe all kids should receive a basic education to help them rise above poverty," said Hayes Barnard, owner and president of Paramount Equity. "I'm elated that my co-workers and our customers share the sentiment and am so proud of our team for taking part in this incredible effort to help the world’s youth. I encourage everyone to be a good global citizen and help others any way they can."

Before traveling to Africa, Paramount Equity donated more than $37,000 to buildOn, a non-profit organization dedicated to building schools in developing countries. In addition to the $32,000 necessary for construction of the school for children, the team raised an additional $5,000 to fund an adult education program.

The funds were raised through a collaborative effort of employee and customer donations, and through the private fundraising efforts of the team. When fundraising efforts began in May, Paramount Equity donated $50 from every transaction throughout the month to buildOn. With great appreciation, Paramount Equity notified each customer that a donation had been made in their name.
