It may just be the biggest no-brainer of all time. Installing solar panels on your home not only is free these days, it’ll save you quite a bit over the next couple of decades.

A 30% tax credit, courtesy of the Federal Government, and a state-wide rebate together are allowing homeowners a chance of a life time.

“Right now to get solar they spend zero dollars,” boasted Kirk Hammersmith, a solar consultant with Paramount Energy Solutions.

No wonder the state saw a 47% increase in residential solar in 2010 from the previous year.

“We are able to reassign the tax credit along with the rebate and give those to the customers immediately,” acknowledged Hammersmith. “There is no property value requirements, no income requirements, they only have to have decent credit.”

For example, a customer who pays $195 per month for his energy bill can instead put zero down, have the panels professionally installed, then pay only $110 per month over a 20-year lease. His energy bill will be reduced to $79 which means he is saving $6 per month. Not a huge savings, but spread out over the length of the lease, taking into consideration the rising cost of energy, and the total savings is close to $10,000.

If you really want a return on your investment you can put some money down first which lowers a homeowners monthly lease payment and greatly increases the amount saved at the end of the 20 years. “We can’t make this stuff up,” commented Hammersmith. “There is no better time to do this than right now.”

Paramount Equity Goes Solar

Last July, we started up our solar division, Paramount Energy Solutions.  Our goal was to help homeowners make the switch to renewable solar power and save money on their utility costs.  One year later, we are now the ONLY solar provider in the areas we serve to have installed solar on their own roof!  Not only have we made an investment in the health of the environment, but by utilizing solar energy, it saves us a significant amount on our utility costs each month!

Paramount Equity Headquarters designated as Certified Wildlife Habitat

In Northern California, it’s not uncommon to spot wild turkeys wandering past the windows, or see a bluebird alight gently onto the perch of his birdhouse. On a daily basis, we hear the quack-quack of mallard ducks as they fly overhead, and hear the splash as they land in the stream flowing through a grassy meadow. In springtime, we are serenaded by the sunshine-infused cheers of a chorus of songbirds.

If this sounds more like a habitat refuge to you than a corporate headquarters, you’re right.

And wrong.

Paramount Equity and buildOn in Mali, Africa

Last fall, Paramount Equity’s executives spent 8 days in Mali, Africa helping to build a schoolhouse. Customers, employees and friends raised $37,000 for buildOn, an organization which builds schools in developing countries.

“As the father of three young children I believe all kids should receive a basic education to help them rise above poverty,” said Hayes Barnard, president of Paramount Equity. “I’m elated that my co-workers and our customers share the sentiment and am so proud of our team for taking part in this incredible effort to help the world’s youth. I encourage everyone to be a good global citizen and help others any way they can.”
